A real Brut Champagne, with a nice fresh and dry character. Broad and open, with the accent on white fruit, citrus fruit, pear, apple, brioche. Invigorating and elegant, good mousse, soft acidity, dry, but not too strict. Dry sparkling wine. Not only a perfect aperitif, but also an excellent accompaniment to classic fish dishes or oyster and shrimp cocktails.

With its basic Champagne, Philipponnat has built up a great name over the years. In addition to this Champagne, Philipponnat also has a Champagne available under the St. Marceaux label. Not an 'unknown' brand by the way, but a name that has existed in Champagne since the beginning of the 19th century. The modern version of St. Marceaux is a wonderfully light-footed Champagne, in a composition of mainly Pinot Noir, supplemented with smaller amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It undergoes a classic second fermentation in the bottle and then matures in the bottle for more than a year before being released on the market. It is dosed at 8 grams of sugar per liter when the final cork is applied, making it a real Brut Champagne, with a nice fresh and dry character.
