Deep ruby red color with purple reflections. A pure nose of blackcurrants and a hint of licorice. In the mouth fruity, even a little sweet (violet candy) and the presence of spices. Fine and supple tannins with a tasty final.

Domain Domaine Labruyère is one of the oldest wineries in the Moulin-à-Vent appellation. In 1850, winegrower Jean-Marie Labruyère settled in Thorins, a hamlet of Romanèche-Thorins. He bought 10 hectares of the best located vineyards. Since then, several generations have managed the estate and the famous plot of Le Clos du Moulin-à-Vent was acquired, a unique Monopole in this appellation. The plot is located close to the iconic windmill and is Domaine Labruyère's most valuable asset. The family estate consciously chooses sustainable agriculture in order to leave a healthy soil and vineyards to future generations. Out of concern for the individuality of each terroir, they have opted for a vineyard-by-vineyard approach, as is also applied in Burgundy. This led to three specific cuvées: Champ de Cour, Le Carquelin and Le Clos (uniquely Monopole). In addition, the team strongly believes that wines from this appellation should maintain the tradition of complex and structured wines for long-term storage. Some wine lovers have forgotten that Gamay wines can have an astonishing complexity.

Under the same ownership as Domaine Jacques Prieur in Meursault on the Côte de Beaune, this estate has produced a rich wine, generously textured and full of black fruits. It has weight and concentration as well as ripe berry flavors.
